Dunkirk Trip - 2nd October 2010
The group trip to France via the Channel Tunnel was a great success. We visited the war cemetery in Dunkirk, laid crosses on some of the graves and held a short service of remembrance. After a picnic and fun and games on the beach, we visited the war museum at Dunkirk where we learned about Operation Dynamo and the Battle of Dunkirk. Finally we stopped at the large Cite Europe shopping centre in Calais for souvenirs and dinner. Everyone really enjoyed the day and all the Beavers, Cubs and Scouts earned their Union Flag badge.
